IN / ON / AT — Time Prepositions

సమయం గురించి మాట్లాడేటప్పుడు in, on, at ఉపయోగిస్తాం. ఏ పదం ఉపయోగించాలో మనం చెప్పే సమయం ఎంత స్పష్టంగా ఉందనే దానిపై ఆధారపడి ఉంటుంది.

సులభంగా గుర్తుంచుకోండి:

IN → పెద్ద కాలవ్యవధి
ON → రోజు లేదా తేదీ
AT → ఖచ్చితమైన సమయం

1. IN — పెద్ద కాలవ్యవధి

నెలలు, సంవత్సరాలు, ఋతువులు, శతాబ్దాలు మరియు రోజులోని సాధారణ భాగాల ముందు in ఉపయోగిస్తాం.

నెలల ముందు

in January — జనవరిలో
in May — మే నెలలో
in December — డిసెంబరులో

Examples:

My birthday is in May.
నా పుట్టినరోజు మే నెలలో ఉంటుంది.
Schools reopen in June.
పాఠశాలలు జూన్ నెలలో తిరిగి తెరుచుకుంటాయి.

సంవత్సరాల ముందు

in 1990 — 1990లో
in 2026 — 2026లో
in 2030 — 2030లో

Examples:

I was born in 1990.
నేను 1990లో పుట్టాను.
She joined the company in 2024.
ఆమె 2024లో కంపెనీలో చేరింది.

ఋతువుల ముందు

in summer — వేసవిలో
in winter — చలికాలంలో
in the rainy season — వర్షాకాలంలో

Examples:

It is very hot in summer.
వేసవిలో చాలా వేడిగా ఉంటుంది.
We wear warm clothes in winter.
చలికాలంలో వెచ్చని బట్టలు వేసుకుంటాము.

శతాబ్దాల ముందు

in the 19th century — 19వ శతాబ్దంలో
in the 21st century — 21వ శతాబ్దంలో

Example:

We live in the 21st century.
మనం 21వ శతాబ్దంలో జీవిస్తున్నాము.

రోజులోని సాధారణ భాగాల ముందు

in the morning — ఉదయం
in the afternoon — మధ్యాహ్నం
in the evening — సాయంత్రం

Examples:

I exercise in the morning.
నేను ఉదయం వ్యాయామం చేస్తాను.
We play cricket in the evening.
మేము సాయంత్రం క్రికెట్ ఆడతాము.

కొంత సమయం తరువాత అని చెప్పడానికి

in ten minutes — పది నిమిషాల్లో
in two hours — రెండు గంటల్లో
in three days — మూడు రోజుల్లో

Examples:

I will call you in ten minutes.
నేను పది నిమిషాల్లో మీకు ఫోన్ చేస్తాను.
He will return in two days.
అతను రెండు రోజుల్లో తిరిగి వస్తాడు.

ఇక్కడ in two days అంటే రెండు రోజుల తరువాత అని అర్థం.

2. ON — రోజు లేదా తేదీ

వారం రోజులు, తేదీలు మరియు ప్రత్యేకమైన రోజు ముందు on ఉపయోగిస్తాం.

వారాల ముందు

on Monday — సోమవారం
on Friday — శుక్రవారం
on Sunday — ఆదివారం

Examples:

I will meet you on Monday.

ప్రత్యేకమైన రోజుల ముందు

on my birthday — నా పుట్టినరోజున
on Christmas Day — క్రిస్మస్ రోజున
on Independence Day — స్వాతంత్ర్య దినోత్సవం రోజున
on New Year’s Day — నూతన సంవత్సర రోజున

Examples:

We cut a cake on my birthday.
నా పుట్టినరోజున మేము కేక్ కట్ చేస్తాము.
We visit our relatives on Christmas Day.
క్రిస్మస్ రోజున మేము మా బంధువులను కలుస్తాము.

రోజు + morning/afternoon/evening

ఒక నిర్దిష్టమైన రోజు morning, afternoon లేదా evening అని చెప్పినప్పుడు on ఉపయోగించాలి.

3. AT — ఖచ్చితమైన సమయం

at 6 o’clock — ఆరు గంటలకు

Examples:

I wake up at 6 o’clock.

at midnight — అర్ధరాత్రి
at sunrise — సూర్యోదయ సమయంలో
at sunset — సూర్యాస్తమయ సమయంలో
at night — రాత్రి

Examples:

We have lunch at noon.
మేము మధ్యాహ్నం పన్నెండు గంటలకు భోజనం చేస్తాము.
He arrived at midnight.
అతను అర్ధరాత్రి వచ్చాడు.
I do not go outside at night.

పండుగకాలం లేదా ప్రత్యేక సందర్భం

at Christmas — క్రిస్మస్ సమయంలో

The meeting is at 10 a.m. on Monday in June.
